baby, I'm just soggy from the chemo //x\\ Twoface « Thread Started on Apr 4, 2008, 10:23pm »
this just ain't livin', and I just hope you know that if you say goodbye today, I'd ask you to be true ...
Talon had to admit, there were some views that truly did take your breath away - and this was definitely one of them.
The pale blue eyes were gazing out over the ocean, the tall thin body leaning against the sturdy metal railings that only just met his chest height-wise, the straight black hair slightly ruffled by the ocean wind which made it meander in flyaway strands over the contours of the teen's pale face. The sky was a fiery red, the thin whisps of cloud that still hovered above catching the last of the sun's rays, making the rims bright gold. Talon took a deep breath, breathing in the fresh, salty air with a small smile on his face.
Most would tell him to take a picture so it would last longer, but a photograph couldn't capture the cool, salty breeze, the gentle hiss of the waves as the hit the rocks below, the cry of the gulls as they swooped overhead, occasionally swooping down to peck at the remains of fish and chip carriers that visitors had left behind ... it was amazing. He just wanted this moment to never end, ever.
Stretching to relieve his arms of the numbness that they had obtained whilst leaning on the railings, Talon sank back onto a bench. The teen was wearing fairly simple clothing; a faded, sleeveless black T-shirt, tight black jeans, large black Doc Martens and a pair of worn biker gloves. His pale blue eyes were ringed heavily with dark eyeliner, and his black hair was long enough to cover the left side of his face - and most of the right side, too. His hands, one of which he ran through his hair, were bony and looked almost delicate with long, pale fingers and nails that were quite a bit longer than the average.
Leaning back on the bench, he propped his arms behind his head and continued to gaze out over the golden ocean. Not even a Northerner could spoil this now.
... coz the hardest part of this is leavin' you

It was getting late, the sky turning into a crowd of colours, jostling together and tainting the once greyish horizon into a wash of pinks, peaches, oranges, reds and golds. A teenage boy was pacing the beach, stopping to pick up flat pebbles and lob them into the water every so often. His dual coloured hair shone with an orange tint as the sun slid carelessly down the infinite horizon of the sea, tainting the water a wine stain red.
Walking towards the wall, that rose up from the promenade like a brick cliff, the young man unzipped his pants and pissed against a sign that advertised that purse thieves operated in the area. Whistling nonchalantly, he zipped up his pants again and walked up the concrete steps, his hand lightly skimming against the copper blue hand rail.
Head appearing above the line of the street, he spotted another Southerner sitting on a bench not a hundred meters off. Grinning, he wiped his hands on his skinny jeans - which used to be black, but they’d faded to a patchy navy - and ran up the last few steps before stuffing his hands in his pockets and walking casually towards the black haired boy.
Sitting down on the far end of the bench, he stared at the floor for a moment, before sliding in a smooth movement to press his body against Talon’s. Moving his face close to the younger boy’s neck, he grinned, “Evening,” he breathed, his grin could be heard in his voice. As suddenly as he’d appeared, he slid away again, and resumed his staring at the floor, tapping his foot thoughtfully on a tacky piece of half dried gum.

Talon stretched again, yawning at the same time; however he wasn't even going to try to think about sleep, who would want to sleep before 3am? He crossed one leg over the other, absent-mindedly scratching the back of his neck, before reaching into the pocket of his jeans and producing an obviously battered iPod, which he eagerly switched on and flicked through the tracks, pausing on "Welcome to the Black Parade" and turning it up full blast so that even passers-by could clearly hear every word of the song, and his ears were filled with the pounding drums and guitars as well as Gerard Way's screaming voice, and he eagerly tapped one foot to the rhythm of the song, his head following the same beat.
He didn't even notice that the other teen had joined him on the bench until he felt a body pressed against his own, at which point he abruptly paused the music, blushing furiously; he didn't like to admit it, but he was one heck of a yaoi boy, and when he noticed that the other was not only male but also a Southerner and roughly the same height and age as he was, he was half expecting a nosebleed to ensue, he was blushing so furiously.
He pulled the battered earplugs from his ears to hear the whisper that the other boy breathed into his neck, and felt a shudder half of pleasure, half of complete bewilderment and embarrasment as he felt the hot breath tickle his pale skin, then watched as the other boy slid away as though nothing had happened, staring at the floor. He quirked a hidden brow, and began to scratch at his arms, which he often did when nervous or embarrassed, not noticing for a while that his long nails had broken skin and left some nice red scars on his lower arm. "Shit," he muttered irritably; he was making a real stupid ass of himself. In an attempt to recover himself, he decided to make a stab at decent conversation.
"Err ... hi there," he said awkwardly. This really wasn't going well, but he was sure the other boy was probably pissing himself laughing at him. Well, it can only get better, he though half-heartedly. Can't it?

His lips were quirked into a sly smirk, and he glanced sideways at Talon, who was as flushed as a blood orange. Tipping his head to one side, he pushed his old school headphones down round his neck - they were just for show, they weren’t plugged in to anything - and his smirk widened. “I’d heard you were a bit of an emo kid, but scratching? That’s the lowest form of self harm. Shame I don’t give a fuck how depressed you are,” his smirk widened into a grin. Running a hand through the cyan part of his hair, he pushed it back over his right eye. Crossing his legs, his face contorted momentarily as his crotch got squished, and he slid his lower leg along his knee till his ankle was comfortably resting there.
He paid little attention to Talon for a full five minuets, watching as the sun finally disappeared below the undulating horizon. Street lights flickered on, and there was a considerable shift in the atmosphere of the place. It was no longer a romantic sunset, but a dangerous, tense feeling would no doubt creep over the more cautious of citizens as the sounds of Southerners creeping out of their daytime hideaways came to his ears. Tipping back his head, he sighed and studied the first few stars that had faded in dimly after the sun had made its exit. “The straight and narrows will be locking up for the night. Don’t want those dirty street kids getting in now, do they?” his voice was sarcastic, slightly patronizing. He knew Talon was younger than him, but hell, he didn’t care by how much.
Yawning, he scratched his crotch without even batting a lid, and then hooked his arms round the back of the bench. The hand closest to Talon was almost too close for comfort, but TwoFace didn’t really care. He could put his hands wherever he bloody wanted. “You’re Talon,” it was a blatant statement instead of a question, and he turned his pale green gaze on the kid. A flash of gold beneath the boy’s coarse black hair caught his eye, and he reached out and brushed the hair away to reveal three gold rings. Tutting, TwoFace rolled his eyes and put both his feet flat on the floor again. “Gold cartilage piercings? Well aren’t you brave,” he laughed slightly, his voice still in the same patronizing tone. Winding up this kid was hilarious.

As Talon watched Twoface remove the headphones, he suddenly felt a strange sense of wellbeing wash over him, as though all the previous worries had been flushed out of him. However they weren't replaced by inexplicable happiness as most people would assume, Hell no. It was more of a "bring it on" feeling, like when you were high on drugs or alcohol - it was a rare feeling for Talon, but not unheard of, and he decided to play it to his strengths as TwoFace sent the first jibe at him.
"Well, we 'emos' all have our own methods," he replied casually, "and besides, I'm out of cash so I can't afford a razor and this way is is much less messy, don't you reckon?" Despite flashing the older teen a confident grin, he himself was slightly unsure of himself. Was this him speaking? He should have been yelling a shitload of swears at him by now. Ah well, at least it might throw the other off course slightly; a lot of people had come to expect a violent reaction from Talon by now, especially the Southerners.
Casting his gaze out at the disappearing sun, he switched on the iPod again, letting it play the rest of "Welcome to the Black Parade" and giving him a chance to take his mind off TwoFace for a few minutes, before he felt the pale green eyes on him again and switched it off, putting it in his jeans pocket and hearing TwoFace talk about the "straight and narrows" locking up so the "filthy street kids couldn't get in", and which point he laughed slightly.
"Dirty street kids, hmm? You know that applies to both of us. Besides, I bet you used to be a spitting image of one of those - what did you call them? - 'straight and narrows'. I mean, let's face it - we all were once." He grinned again, watching the darkening sky as a crescent moon slowly faded into view, before he heard TwoFace speak again.
"Well, I've heard rumours," he said sarcastically. He was on a roll this evening, for shit's sake, and he wasn't going to let TwoFace's jibes anger him like they usually would. Must've been the fact that it was dark; he always seemed to be able to control his temper better at night. "And you're TwoFace, right?" he queried, knowing it was a rhetorical question but also reckoning that TwoFace was the kind of guy that would come up with a 'witty' answer nonetheless.
As TwoFace brushed his hair aside to inspect his piercings, Talon shivered again, not expecting the light touch of the other teen. But when yet another jibe came his way, he felt his patience begin to ebb slightly as he brushed TwoFace's hand aside. "Bravery has nothing to do with it," he muttered, "unless you think dares require bravery, that is," he added casually. He was just hoping TwoFace would leave off him for a while now, otherwise his temper would begin to run very thin and he would be, as usual, a laughing stock. He didn't want to keep his hopes up, though.

TwoFace rolled his eyes as Talon proceeded to explain some shit about emos. Laughing sharply, he held up a hand for silence. “Talon, really. Do you think I give a fuck?” his voice was light though, and he didn’t really mean it. But Talon wouldn’t take it that TwoFace cared, would he? Making Talon the exception to his spiteful ways wasn’t the best way to go about things…Others might think he was weak, and probe exceptions out of him themselves. ‘The more power you gain, the more ways people find to control you…’ he thought, reminding himself of a passage in a book he read.
